As a second generation Massage Therapist, I was first introduced to the field of massage therapy by my mother. She began her career when I was a teenager. I remember being amazed at how wonderful and peaceful I felt after she would work on me. The massages she gave me greatly reduced the amount of stress I was carrying and helped me to sleep better, and be more calm and relaxed in general. During my pregnancy with my first child the massages proved to be invaluable.
In 2002 I graduated from The Wellness and Massage Training Institute in Woodridge Illinois. I completed a 770 hour program which included 100 hours in clinical practice. After graduating I became nationally certified through NCBTMB. I have been a professional member of ABMP since 2002.
I enjoy continuing my education and regularly take professional classes. Some of these include sports massage, Ortho-Bionomy, aromatherapy, Reiki, Myofascial Release, and prenatal massage.
I have had the opportunity to work in many settings including a health club, medical center, spa, pain-therapy clinic, and chiropractic office. I learned so much by working with a large variety of clientèle and am grateful for all of those experiences. In 2008 I had the opportunity to start my private practice and WhiteWave Bodywork was born.
I believe in the body's inherent ability to heal itself. I focus on creating a nurturing and comfortable environment for my clients so that they have the space to fully relax. I see myself as a facilitator and work with each individual to bring about the change that they need to feel more comfortable and free in their own body. I feel truly blessed to be in this profession and continue to be amazed by the limitless potential of bodywork.
